Dorchester man, 38, identified as person fatally wounded during shootout with Boston police
The man shot and killed by Boston police officers after he allegedly opened fire on them on early Sunday was identified by a law enforcement source today as a 38-year-old Dorchester resident.
The death of Ross Baptista is under investigation by Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley's office. In a statement Sunday, Conley promised “a full and impartial investigation'' into the use of deadly force by Boston police.
