Hingham police ask for help in finding man who allegedly tried to run down officer

Hingham police are asking for the public's help in finding a man they say tried to run down a police officer with a truck and crashed into another vehicle before escaping on foot, according to the Hingham Police Department.

Police have identified the man as 30-year-old Bruno Brauer, of Brazil, who was staying at a motel in Saugus at the time of the incident.

The incident began at 10:38 p.m. on June 7, when an officer responded to a report of a truck driving with its lights off through the Best Chevrolet dealership on Derby Street, which is surrounded by a fence and gate, said the statement.
